Well-being cookies for the winter time

Lena from Mein leckeres Leben (My Delicious Life) has come up with a new recipe for the Christmas time:

And this is how it's done.

INGREDIENTS (for about 60 pieces)

  • 250 g soft butter
  • 150 g brown raw cane sugar
  • 2 organic eggs
  • 1 organic orange, zest
  • 200 g spelled flour
  • 50 g fine oat flakes
  • 50 g walnuts or hazelnuts, roughly chopped
  • 1 teaspoon of tartar baking powder
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 200 g dark chocolate

METHOD

  1. Mix the softened butter with the sugar until creamy.
  2. Gradually mix in the eggs.
  3. Rub the peel of the organic orange or cut it into very fine pieces. Add the orange peel to the butter mixture.
  4. Mix the flour with the oatmeal, coarsely chopped nuts, baking powder and salt. Add the mixture to the cookie dough and stir in.
  5. Chop the chocolate and finally mix in.
  6. Chill the cookie dough for at least 30 minutes or, best of all, freeze it.
  7. Preheat the oven to 180 ° C hot air. Remove portions of the cookie dough with a teaspoon, shape into balls and place on a baking tray lined with baking paper (keep distance between them).
  8. Bake in the hot oven for about 10 minutes until golden brown. Let cool down.
  9. Enjoy with hot cocoa, tea or coffee.
