It is the handwork that makes our products so valuable. Any colour differences in painting are due to the fact that each piece is painted by hand. The amount of paint on the brush, the brushing and the handling of the brush by the painter decide how dark or light the colour appears on the individual piece. In addition, our raw materials consist of pure natural materials, which can not be controlled 100%. The fluctuations in the nature of these raw materials also lead to slightly changed appearance. This hand-work does not make every article the same. Each piece of Gmundner Keramik has its own character - it also distinguishes it and makes it unmistakable.

No, Gmundner Keramik is not frost-proof. Please note that products in the garden area (ashtray, rosary, overhead, vase, etc.) must be winterized and do not put any dishes in the freezer.

Each piece of Gmundner Keramik is painted by hand and is a true unique item. In order to be able to enjoy Gmundner Keramik for a longer period of time, please observe the following care and usage recommendations:

Gmundner Keramik can be cleaned at any time in the dishwasher. Our recommendation:

  • Rinse at a maximum of 50 ° C. So you protect the material.
  • Use flush powder instead of tabs. Powder can be precisely controlled and is less aggressive.
  • Allow steam to escape completely after rinsing. This prevents lime stains.
  • Regularly straighten bent wires in the rinse basket. This is how your dishes do not hit each other.

You can always use Gmundner Keramik in the microwave. Our recommendation:

After the rinse, use only fully dried tableware in your microwave. Otherwise it can be heated too much by the residual moisture.

A little hint:
Use the microwave as a handy dish warmer. Simply place the plates in the microwave for a few seconds.

Contamination through cutlery ware
If you see thin grey strokes, scratches or stripes on your ceramic, you do not need to worry. These are not defects in the glaze, but through the use of knives and cutlery. As the name implies, this is the increased wear of the cutlery on the dishes. This problem is not limited to ceramics but also occurs in porcelain.

Unfortunately, the abrasion can not be completely avoided, but you can prevent it by the following measures:

  • Always use well-ground knives
  • When cleaning in the dishwasher, ensure that there is always enough rinse aid and salt in the corresponding chambers
  • Use of phosphate-free detergents

Should you still have problems with cutlery wear, we recommend the Gmundner Keramik dishwasher detergent. This makes your ceramic look as new, but it can also be used for porcelain. Try it yourself!

With Gmundner Keramik you have opted for a real piece of Austria of lasting value.

For all existing and older designs listed on the page "Availability guarantee", we guarantee that you will be able to place your order for an unlimited time (coffee cup, saucer, dessert plate, soup plate, dinner plate). This service is unique in the industry and can only be guaranteed because in the Gmundner Keramik manufactory every single piece is painted by hand.

Once the offer in a design is reduced to the after-sale guarantee, this is communicated at least one year in advance. At the same time, customers receive recommendations as to which other designs can be combined for table supplements. With that, a place setting never loses its charm and mood.

The cup or gourmet shape is the original, straightforward form, according to recorded tradition. The plates are without flag. The classic shape is timeless, functional and can be combined in a variety of ways. The gourmet shape, on the other hand, is characterized by its thinner wall thickness and therefore less weight. The plates have an elegant, wide flag and a reduced design. The plate flag is the outer edge of a plate. The flag is slightly raised and closes the plate, thus giving a wide rim.
